Denver Wedding Venues: Moss, Ironworks and 11 More, Light Worked Out
Thirteen Denver and Golden wedding venues with Google ratings, from Moss and Ironworks to Washington Park Boathouse, plus ceremony and sunset times for 2027.
October 14, 2026
At a mile up, with the Front Range filling the western horizon, Denver light behaves differently from almost anywhere else couples marry. The altitude makes the daylight harder and clearer than couples expect, and the mountains decide when the sun really leaves. Below are thirteen Denver and Golden venues couples ask us about, grouped by style, with what each one means for a film crew and the light for every month of 2027.
Denver's light, month by month
Computed for the 15th of each month in 2027. The ceremony start is set 2 hours 45 minutes before sunset, which leaves room for the ceremony, family photos and cocktail hour, and still puts the two of you outside for golden hour.
| Month | Start ceremony | Golden hour | Sunset | Daylight |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| January | 2:14 PM | 4:18 PM | 4:59 PM | 9.7 h |
| February | 2:51 PM | 4:58 PM | 5:36 PM | 10.7 h |
| March | 4:21 PM | 6:31 PM | 7:06 PM | 11.9 h |
| April | 4:53 PM | 7:01 PM | 7:38 PM | 13.3 h |
| May | 5:22 PM | 7:29 PM | 8:07 PM | 14.4 h |
| June | 5:44 PM | 7:49 PM | 8:29 PM | 15.0 h |
| July | 5:42 PM | 7:47 PM | 8:27 PM | 14.7 h |
| August | 5:11 PM | 7:19 PM | 7:56 PM | 13.7 h |
| September | 4:23 PM | 6:33 PM | 7:08 PM | 12.5 h |
| October | 3:35 PM | 5:44 PM | 6:20 PM | 11.2 h |
| November | 1:59 PM | 4:04 PM | 4:44 PM | 10.0 h |
| December | 1:51 PM | 3:53 PM | 4:36 PM | 9.4 h |
Two Denver-specific notes. First, these times assume a flat horizon, and Denver does not have one to the west. At a venue with an open view toward the foothills, the sun can slip behind the Front Range before the listed sunset, and in Golden, closer in, that happens sooner. Second, midday sun at this altitude is bright and hard on faces. We keep portraits out of it and use the window the table gives us.

Historic houses
Grant-Humphreys Mansion and The Lumber Baron Inn & Gardens are the two old houses on the list. Grant-Humphreys has the classic, old-world character people picture when they say "mansion wedding." The Lumber Baron is a Victorian mansion that runs as an inn, with a ballroom and gardens, so the house itself is the backdrop for most of the day. Wellshire Event Center is the third historic choice, with the warmth of an older building. Ironworks is a different kind of old: Art Deco, a grand staircase and chandeliers. A staircase like that is a gift for an entrance shot, and we plan a camera position for it before anyone walks down.
Brick, steel and white walls
Mile High Station is the big industrial room, open and urban. Moss Denver pairs exposed brick with chandeliers, industrial with a softer edge. Skylight is the bright one, white brick and a modern shell that a couple can style any way they like. These three are where Denver couples go when they want a city wedding rather than a mountain one.
Gardens, parks and patios
Denver Botanic Gardens is the most reviewed place on this list by a wide margin, and for good reason; it is one of the city's best-known gardens. Washington Park Boathouse sits in one of Denver's favorite parks. Acoma House Events is smaller and design-forward, with a back patio that gives an indoor wedding an outdoor moment.
Rooftop and foothills
Rooftop1630 is the rooftop choice. Up in Golden, Christies of Genesee and Table Mountain are the closest thing to a mountain wedding without driving into the mountains.
What the camera needs at five of them
Mile High Station. Large open industrial rooms echo. A room microphone alone will make your vows sound like they were said in a parking garage. We put a lavalier microphone on the officiant and one partner, and record a feed from the DJ or band board for toasts. Industrial rooms also go dark fast once the sun is down, so the reception gets lit on purpose.
Moss Denver. Chandeliers are beautiful practical light, but they are warm, and the window light in the late afternoon is cool. We set color for the room so skin does not shift from orange to blue between shots.
Washington Park Boathouse. An outdoor ceremony in an open park means wind on the microphones, and in summer it means watching the sky. Denver summer afternoons often build thunderstorms that pass through in an hour. The table's June and July start times, around 5:40, usually land after the worst of it, but we always have a covered plan.
Rooftop1630. A rooftop keeps the sun longest, because nothing nearby blocks it, and that is the reason to choose one. It also gives you wind and city noise. Lavalier microphones on the couple and officiant are not optional here.
Christies of Genesee and Table Mountain. In the foothills the hills themselves become the horizon. Golden hour can end well before the clock says sunset. On the scout we stand where the portraits will happen at the time we plan to take them, and if the ridge takes the light early, we move the portraits earlier.

What we would do
A June wedding at Washington Park Boathouse: ceremony at 5:44, family photos and cocktail hour after, the two of you out for portraits at 7:49, and the last light at 8:29 filmed from wherever the western sky is open. For that day we would recommend The Reverie, eight hours with drone footage of the venue, because the long June evening is worth covering to the end.
An October wedding at Moss Denver: a first look at 2:30, ceremony at 3:35, portraits outside at 5:44, sunset at 6:20, then reception inside under the chandeliers. Six hours with The Verse covers it comfortably.
