Los Angeles Wedding Venues: The Ebell, Millwick, Savanna Rooftop and More

Fourteen Los Angeles wedding venues with Google ratings, from The Ebell and Carondelet House to Millwick and Savanna Rooftop, with 2027 ceremony times.

October 14, 2026

Los Angeles has more wedding venues than any couple can tour, and the long list hides a short truth: almost all of them fall into a few types. There are the landmark rooms with marble and chandeliers, the indoor-outdoor garden spaces in the Arts District and the hills, the rooftops, and the venues near the water in Long Beach. Each type wants a different ceremony time and a different plan for the camera. Here are fourteen that couples ask us about.

The light in Los Angeles

Computed for the 15th of each month in 2027. The start ceremony time is sunset minus two hours and forty-five minutes, which leaves room for the ceremony, family photos, cocktail hour and a portrait walk in golden hour.

The numbers are gentle compared with the Midwest, but they are not the whole story. Near the coast in late spring and early summer, a marine layer can sit over the city into the afternoon and flatten the light. Inland and downtown it usually burns off sooner. We plan for both and are rarely disappointed by an overcast sky; it is the most flattering light there is for skin.

Landmark rooms

The Majestic, The Oviatt, The Belasco and The Ebell are the formal side of Los Angeles. The Majestic Downtown is marble floors and chandeliers, and The Belasco is an ornate theater, which on film means tall ceilings, rich detail and a lot of hard surfaces. Big ornate rooms are where wedding audio goes wrong. We put a lavalier on the officiant and on one partner, take a direct feed from the sound system for toasts, and never rely on a camera microphone in a room that echoes.

These rooms are also dark once the sun goes down. A ceremony inside does not need the table's start time; a portrait walk outside does. Where tall buildings surround a venue, they shade the street well before sunset, so we head out a few minutes before the listed golden hour.

Houses and gardens

Carondelet House is a historic Italian-villa-style house with real vintage character, and its scale is intimate, which suits a smaller guest list and a documentary style of filming. Millwick in the Arts District and The Fig House are indoor-outdoor venues that move between rooms and garden, and Valentine DTLA brings art and greenery inside. These are the venues where the ceremony start time matters most. An outdoor ceremony at 3:00 in August puts faces in hard sun and shadows under the eyes; at 4:54 the light is lower and kinder, and by the time the portraits start at 7:05 it is the best of the day.

Grand Venue in Los Feliz pairs a ballroom with a courtyard, so a ceremony can happen outside and the reception in, without a move.

Rooftops

Savanna Rooftop and Casa Vertigo give you the skyline. Rooftops are the most-requested shot in downtown Los Angeles and the hardest to record well. City noise comes up from the street, wind moves microphones and veils, and the light changes fast as the sun drops behind other buildings. We mic the vows, keep a second angle on the couple, and plan the skyline portraits for golden hour rather than the ceremony itself. Savanna's indoor space is the fallback if the evening turns cool.

Pasadena and Long Beach

The University Club of Pasadena is the option for couples who would rather marry in Pasadena than in the city center. Rancho Los Cerritos in Long Beach is a historic adobe ranch house with gardens: the most different-looking venue on this list, and one where the gardens make the portrait walk easy. The Reef on the Water has harbor views, which means open sky to the west on clear evenings and sea breeze to plan around for audio.

A few things that are specific to Los Angeles

The year is mild but not uniform. Late spring and early summer can bring the marine layer, especially near the coast. Late summer and early fall are often the hottest months inland, and a September ceremony in full sun can be uncomfortable for guests. Fall and winter can bring dry Santa Ana winds some years, and most of the year's rain falls in winter. None of that should stop a date; it should decide whether you plan for shade, a breeze, or a backup room.

Traffic is the other local fact. Moving between a getting-ready location and a venue across town takes longer than the map suggests on a weekend afternoon. If your day has two locations, build in the drive, and consider a second videographer ($500) so getting ready is covered in both places.

What we would do

A June garden wedding at Millwick: ceremony at 5:20, family photos at 6:00, cocktails, dinner at 6:45, portraits in the garden and on the Arts District streets at 7:29, and the last light at 8:05. The eight-hour Reverie covers it from getting ready through the first hour of dancing, with an Instagram highlight and drone footage of the venue.

A December wedding at The Majestic Downtown: first look at 12:45, wedding party photos outside, ceremony at 2:00, a short walk at 4:06 for golden hour, then dinner and dancing under the chandeliers. Six to eight hours.

Every venue above has its own page with the sunset for that spot. The full table and our local coverage are on the Los Angeles wedding videographer page. Our packages are priced the same at every venue with no travel fees, and a $500 deposit reserves your date.

We are not affiliated with or endorsed by any venue named here; names identify where couples marry. Ratings and review counts are Google's as of our last check and will change. Sunset and golden-hour times are computed for the 15th of each month in 2027.
